The Woodbridge School
District utilizes a variety of sources to publish openings within the
District including print media, postings sent to other agencies, and
websites. The preferred method of application is located at the Teach
Delaware website.

Note: Beginning with the 2010-11 school year, step 1 of the salary schedule is the equivalent of a teacher that has zero years of experience.
Residency Incentive
Any teacher who resides in the Woodbridge School District will receive a residency incentive of two percent (2%) of the local salary portion of their annual compensation. This amount will be prorated for teachers who change residencies during the course of a school year.

School District Employee Benefits
HEALTH INSURANCE: Blue Cross/Blue Shield or Aetna
Employees choose from a variety of plans and pay a "small" co-pay depending on the plan that is chosen. The State of Delaware/Woodbridge School District pays the majority of the cost of health insurance.
GROUP LIFE INSURANCE: Employees and/or dependents are eligible for this plan. Employees pay a small rate based on age, salary amount, and dependent coverage. Coverage is through Minnesota Life.
DENTAL INSURANCE: Dominion Dental or Delta Dental
Employees are eligible for State of Delaware plan provided by Woodbridge. This plan is voluntary and at the expense of the employee.
PRESCRIPTIONS: When you enroll in a health care plan you will automatically be enrolled in the prescription drug plan managed by Medco Health Solutions, Inc. (Medco).
SECOND OPINION AND DIAGNOSIS EVALUATION PROGRAM: Best Doctors, Inc.
SUPPLEMENTAL BENEFITS PROGRAM: Motivano or AFLAC
DISABILITY INSURANCE PROGRAM: The Hartford
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: Human Management Services, Inc. (HMS)
BLOOD BANK OF DELAWARE: State of Delaware pays yearly fee.
PENSION: Woodbridge School District employees are covered by the State of Delaware Pension System.
WORK YEAR: During the 2011-2012 school year teachers at Woodbridge work a 188-day work year.
SICK DAYS: Woodbridge School District teachers are allocated 10 sick days per year. Of this allotment, 3 may be used for personal reasons. These sick days accumulate annually and can be "cashed in" at retirement.
MENTORING PROGRAM: All new teachers to the Woodbridge School District will be provided mentoring services for the first three years of employment as per State of Delaware guidelines.
